Both basketball teams demonstrated great skill and determination in hard-fought games last night. Though they didn't secure the wins, their post-season paths remain bright. We are now focused on the PIAA tournament seeding for the Boys and play-in qualifications for the Girls. Best of luck to our athletes as they move forward! ECA Swimmers Shine at West Allegheny Christmas Invitational
The ECA swimmers took to the pool at the West Allegheny Christmas Invitational on December 20, consisting of hundreds of swimmers from 15 schools. All of the swimmers dropped time. ECA swimmers Noah Pickett and Mimi Chamberlain made huge waves in the pool. Noah took first place in the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke, setting Cornell records in the process. Noah now owns 5 out of the 8 possible individual event records. Mimi took second place in the 200 IM, and first place in the 100 breaststroke, beating her own Cornell record. Kendra Durec dropped time in all four of her events, and the 400 freestyle relay team, consisting of Mimi, Kendra, and their OLSH teammates, took sixth place, but more excitedly qualified for WPIALS! Their 200 medley relay also took sixth place, and was only one second away from a WPIAL cut. Ben Heimann and Bailey Durec had a strong showing, as both dropped time in their events. Girls' Volleyball in the PIAA State Tournament Semifinals
Our girls' volleyball team achieved a victory against Berlin Brothersvalley on Saturday, winning the match in a dramatic five-set showdown! They are now set to face Maplewood in the PIAA State Semifinal, scheduled for Tuesday, November 10, at Grove City High School, with the match commencing at 7:30 PM. A victory in this game will send them to the PIAA State title on Saturday at 10:30 AM, held at Cumberland Valley High School in Chambersburg. Eden Christian rallies past Saegertown to head back to PIAA Class A final
Boys Varsity BaseballClutch hitting and a calm sophomore pitcher carried the Eden Christian baseball team back to the PIAA Class A baseball championship game. A three-run double by sophomore catcher Josh Tiden in a four-run fifth inning and solid pitching from sophomore Noah Emswiler rallied Eden Christian past District 10 runner-up Saegertown, 7-5, at Slippery Rock’s Jack Critchfield Park. The victory puts Eden Christian (19-6) in the championship game at 10:30 a.m. Friday against District 1 champion Faith Christian (22-0) at Penn State’s Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. Faith Christian advanced with a 6-1 victory against Bishop McCort. This is the second time that Eden Christian has reached the championship game. It lost to Halifax, 9-1, in 2021. “We’re hoping for a better outcome,” coach Mark Feldman said. “The more you play in these games, the more you are prepared. CoEd Varsity SwimmingEden Warrior and freshman, Noah Pickett, broke the Cornell High School Record in the 500 freestyle by 4 seconds tonight (he won the event by over 30 seconds). The new team record is now 4:57.81 and he is now in the top 10 for WPIALS in this event.
